Interview with Mattia Giuliano, material specialist at CRF

What will be the test protocols applied in the development of the cells?

The cell is the basic functional unit of a battery, where the electrochemical key process behind its capacity to store and release the energy happens. Therefore, the cells will develop starting from requirements related to two possible final applications, automotive and stationary storage, provided by two leading companies in the fields. These specifications will be translated and adapted to the materials and technology solutions addressed within the project, to reach the target defined. The cells developed will be tested using customized tests, based on protocols currently applied by the end-users to test technological solutions for their applications.
