Maica Morant, Associate Researcher at CIC energiGUNE, the partners that oversee the work package about cell design and manufacture at the pouch cell level in the project, attended the Solid-state Batteries VI. This event, held in Frankfurt, Germany, from November 13 to 15, 2024, was part of the renowned International Bunsen Discussion Meetings series. The theme “From Fundamentals to Application” brought together leading experts in solid-state battery (SSB) research to discuss recent advancements, challenges, and future directions.

Maica stated, about the Conference, that it “was very interesting and worldwide experts from both solid inorganic and solid polymer electrolytes/electrodes fields were presenting the recent advances in the research of SSB”. Being asked about the main outcomes that she got from the event, she said that from her point of view, “there were two many relevant aspects in the conference: the continuous growing of gel electrolytes, and the development of novel interlayers and methods for improving the electrode-electrolyte interfaces, and both topics are directly related with the NEXTCELL project concept”.

Maica participated in the conference with a scientific poster where she explained the last innovations coming from her work on the project. This event aligns with NEXTCELL’s mission to leverage cutting-edge developments in materials and cell design. By fostering collaboration among academia, research institutes, and industry, the Solid-state Batteries VI meeting continues to catalyse innovation.
