NEXTCELL was presented at the 42nd Topical Meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE), held in Helsinki, Finland, from 23–26 June 2026, where Carlotta Francia from Politecnico di Torino showcased the project’s latest developments through with a scientific poster.

Co-authored by Paula Mondino, Sabrina Trano, Federico Bella, Silvia Bodoardo, and Carlotta Francia, the poster highlighted NEXTCELL’s innovative full-gel lithium-ion battery concept, designed to deliver safer, more sustainable and higher-performance cells for future high-capacity and high-voltage applications. It also presented POLITO’s contributions to the project, including the development and optimisation of advanced gel electrolyte formulations, electrochemical characterisation of gelled electrodes, and thermal safety testing of prototype pouch cells.

Participation in the ISE Topical Meeting provided an excellent opportunity to share NEXTCELL’s progress with the international electrochemistry community, fostering scientific exchange and strengthening collaboration towards the next generation of sustainable battery technologies.
